• Light & fluffy towels
  These towels are generally woven with zero or low-twist yarn and have a longer pile or loop that adds a fluffiness and an almost airy feel to the towel.
  Nicely Absorbent, they wick water away from the body and feel light against the skin.

• Heavy & substantial towels
  Crafted from high-twist or multi-ply yarn these towels have a shorter, densely woven pile and a soft, absorbent and substantially weighty feel. 

• Velour towels
  These feel like velvet with the piles on one side sheared.

• Light and Abrasive
  Some of us like our towels to be very light and absorbent but with a slightly abrasive feel so we feel like we are getting a good scrub. This handle is generally achieved with a twisted yarn, low pile construction.

Regular towels are made from standard cotton.

Always wash your new bath-linen items before the first use As they are often coated with softeners to make them look fluffy. Add a cup of vinegar to the very first wash cycle. This will help set the color and prevent fading.

Always tumble dry your terry. This makes it look and feel fluffy. Use a lower heat setting or shuffle between air and heat so you don’t damage the fibres.

For your special, more expensive terry use a gentle-care detergent. It helps make your towels stay fluffy for a very long time.

Ringspun cotton is constructed from long and short staple yarns tightly twisted together to create a stronger, smoother and finer yarn. This method produces a more refined feel than that of a basic combed cotton yarn.

Twist refers to the number of twists per inch of yarn.
A higher twist adds strength and uniformity to a yarn resulting in a more durable, substantial feeling towel. The lower the twist in a yarn the more plush the towel. Low or zero-twist terry can only be constructed from longer staple cotton yarn.

GSM (Grams per square meter)
All towels have a fabric weight. The more the gsm, the heavier the towel.

Higher gsm towels are often associated with luxury.

Lower gsm towels are light, quick drying and useful when your towel has to be carried around in your bag.
